Jumbo Prints

Life at the university is the star of an exhibition by Tufts photographers at the Slater Concourse Gallery

While most folks at Tufts—faculty, students and staff—tend to keep to their own campuses, the members of the Tufts Photography department see it all, documenting this vibrant university community day in and day out, from Grafton to Boston to Medford/Somerville.

Now the photographers have reached into their archives to present their take on Tufts in an exhibition that runs throughout the summer at the Slater Concourse Gallery, located in the Aidekman Arts Center on the Medford/Somerville campus. From performances and student life to animals and sports, the Tufts photographers aim to capture the people and places that define the university.

“We are rooted in a journalistic approach toward documenting our vibrant and dynamic community,” says Alonso Nichols, assistant director of photography.

The exhibition, Jumbo Prints, is on view at the Slater Concourse Gallery, in the Aidekman Arts Center, through the end of August. The building is open Mon.–Fri., 7:30 a.m.–10 p.m.
