Abolitionist John Brown's relationship with local supporters George and Mary Stearns

George and Mary Stearns were among the most significant New England backers of John Brown’s anti-slavery campaigns and of the broader abolitionist cause. The Stearns provided Brown with supplies and monetary support and he was a frequent to their estate in Medford, Mass.
