Nominations Close Soon for Tufts Distinction Awards

Employees have until March 3 to recognize university staff and faculty for exemplary work

Nominations for the 2014 Tufts Distinction Awards, which recognize the contributions of all members of the university community, will close on Monday, March 3. The awards honor individuals and teams who have demonstrated their commitment to the betterment of the university through dedication to professionalism, teamwork and the value of service.

The program, which was initiated in 2008, is a way to thank staff and faculty for their work and to affirm the shared values of the community in which everyone is recognized and has the chance to grow. Awards are made in four categories: the Extra Mile Award, for exceptional customer service; the Bridge Builder Award, for bringing out the best in others; the Change Agent Award, for creating new opportunities for innovation; and the Unsung Hero Award, for accomplishing the extraordinary every day.

Winners are chosen by a selection committee made up of staff and faculty from across the university. At the end of the academic year, the entire university community is invited to celebrate the winners.

All Tufts staff and faculty who are eligible for benefits can be nominated. The awards are not meant to reward accomplishments in teaching or research, and only people directly employed by Tufts are eligible.
