Softball, men’s lacrosse and Mitchell Black, A16, win NCAA titles
Tufts athletes had a monumental Memorial Day weekend, as the softball team won its third straight national championship, an NCAA record, while the men’s lacrosse team won its second consecutive NCAA championship and track star Mitchell Black won the NCAA outdoor 800 meters.
Finishing a perfect 51-0 season in dramatic fashion on May 25, the Tufts softball team won its third consecutive championship with a 7-4 victory over the University of Texas at Tyler in Salem, Virginia. The Jumbos are the first Division III softball team to win three straight, and also set the record for consecutive wins. Read the full story here.
