Tufts makes the top 50 in three categories in the 2016 “Colleges That Pay You Back” guide
High Marks from the Princeton Review
The Princeton Review’s 2016 guide to “Colleges That Pay You Back” has named Tufts a “best value” college, ranking it in the top 50 in three categories: Colleges That Pay You Back, Best Career Placement and Best Schools for Making an Impact.
The university came in at number 29 for offering good return on investment, a metric that takes such factors as quality of education, cost, financial aid, graduation rates and student debt into consideration. Tufts also scored 95 out of a possible 99 in student satisfaction with financial aid.
To calculate career placement rankings, the Princeton Review combined student ratings of their institution’s career services with PayScale.com’s median starting and mid-career salary information for alumni. To draw up the list of Best Schools for Making an Impact, the Review analyzed student ratings and responses to survey questions about community service opportunities, student government, sustainability efforts and on-campus student engagement. In addition, it looked at PayScale.com’s data on what percentage of alumni from each school report having a highly meaningful job.
According to the Princeton Review’s website, Tufts’ reputation and proximity to Boston provide students with attractive post-college career opportunities. The guide also notes that the university’s strong alumni network has helped students find jobs and internships.
