Silence is golden for the performers in the university’s Hype Mimez troupe
Mime is ever so much more than people in black costumes and painted white faces pretending they are trapped in a box—it’s about storytelling, and for members of Hype Mimez, the campus mime troupe, it’s also about community and belonging.
The members are diverse—actors, filmmakers, writers and athletes—but united in their desire to come together to perform. Mime is also a great way, one member suggests, for someone new to this country to get into acting—and not worry about an accent getting in the way.
