Tufts welcomes the Class of 2020 back to campus for a unique Commencement

The celebration of the Class of 2020 held on May 27 was a special event in more ways than one. It was a traditional commencement ceremony with plenty of pomp and circumstance to recognize the hard work and determination of thousands of students who earned their degrees.
But it was also a reunion, as friends who had to leave campus all too suddenly at the start of the pandemic came together again—perhaps for the first time in two years—with warm hugs and tears of joy. Faculty members had the chance to congratulate their students in person and catch up on their lives.
Here are some highlights of the belated and beautiful celebration.
