Knight graduated in 2024 with a Master of Nutrition Science and Policy degree from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
Meet Imogen Knight, N24
We caught up with Imogen to ask her a few questions about her time at the Friedman School. Imogen calls Ketchikan, Alaska home.
Why was this the degree for you?
I was drawn to the program for its diversity. I love that I get to learn alongside students from all parts of the country as well as internationally. The different perspectives that come together during discussions are extremely valuable and create a truly dynamic learning environment. The combination of nutrition science alongside policy also aligned with my career goals as I wanted to better understand the many avenues involved when forming nutrition programs, policies, and guidelines. Pursuing my registered dietitian license, I believe it is crucial to understand the policy making process in order to best serve patients and communities.
What’s the single most important thing you learned during your time at Friedman?
There is no one answer to a problem and that the science is always evolving as new research emerges. What I love about the field of nutrition is that you have the opportunity to never stop learning, and you will be continually asked to challenge and reevaluate your understanding as new discoveries are made.
What’s a good adjective to describe you?
Passionate. I am deeply committed to this career path and feel strongly about making a difference in the field. I feel that nutrition is becoming more and more valued in the health sector, and I am excited to be a part of such a dynamic and fulfilling movement.
