14 young alumni receive full-year stipends to research and teach in 13 countries from Albania to Vietnam

Tufts University has been recognized again as one of the colleges and universities with the highest number of students chosen for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. For the 2025-2026 academic year, 14 students from Tufts were selected for Fulbright awards and are currently studying and researching across the globe.
Tufts has received this honor several times in recent years, including 2024-2025 and 2023-2024.
The Fulbright U.S. Student program offers a year-long grant for students as well as scholars, teachers, artists, and other professionals to conduct research, attend a graduate program, or teach English. The program is administered by the U.S. Department of State.
“Tufts is very well represented by our recent alumni as they teach and learn around the world, thanks to the Fulbright program,” said Cigdem Talgar, vice provost for education. “They are showing how global citizenship works in action, and we look forward to hearing more about them in the years ahead.”
The 14 Fulbright scholars from Tufts for 2025-2026, along with their destinations and positions, are:

The program has worked since 1946 in partnership with more than 140 countries, offering opportunities across academic disciplines to graduating college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals.
“Fulbright alumni work to make a positive impact on their communities, sectors, and the world and have included 44 heads of state or government, 63 Nobel Laureates, 93 Pulitzer Prize winners, 83 MacArthur Fellows, and countless leaders from all sectors and industries across the United States and around the world,” according to the Fulbright program.
The Fulbright competition at Tufts is administered by the Office of Scholar Development.
