Tufts Dental Reunion Weekend 2026 Brings Alumni Together in Celebration of Community, Learning, and Legacy

Even with change over the years, bonds formed at Tufts remain constant

From April 24–26, 2026, the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) welcomed alumni back to Boston for a vibrant and memorable Reunion Weekend. Hosted in partnership with the Tufts University Dental Alumni Association (TUDAA), the weekend brought together graduates spanning decades to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the enduring spirit of the Tufts dental community.

With a dynamic lineup of educational programming, social events, and signature Boston experiences, Reunion Weekend offered something for everyone—blending professional enrichment with meaningful opportunities to reconnect with classmates and friends.

A Weekend of Learning and Professional Growth

Reunion Weekend kicked off on Friday morning with a continuing education lecture led by Dr. Ayman Aboushala, DI06, DG96, DG04, whose course explored the integration of endodontic science into daily clinical practice. Attendees gained valuable insights into diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, and advanced decision-making strategies—reinforcing TUSDM’s commitment to lifelong learning.

On Saturday, alumni returned to Rachel’s Amphitheater for a second continuing education session featuring Dr. Kathleen T. O’Loughlin, D81, H24. Her engaging program on leadership challenged participants to reflect on their individual leadership styles while providing practical tools for building stronger, more effective teams.

Experiencing Boston Together

Throughout the weekend, alumni had the opportunity to experience some of Boston’s most iconic attractions. From a behind-the-scenes tour of Fenway Park to panoramic views atop the Prudential Tower and a lively Boston Duck Boat tour along the Charles River, attendees enjoyed the city in ways that were both nostalgic and new.

Back on campus, student-led tours gave alumni a firsthand look at the continued evolution of TUSDM, offering a meaningful connection between past and present generations of dental professionals.

Reconnecting and Celebrating

The TUSDM Welcome Reception on Friday evening set the tone for the weekend, as alumni gathered in the school’s lobby to reconnect over food, drinks, and shared memories.

Saturday’s TUDAA Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon served as a centerpiece of the weekend, bringing the community together to honor exceptional alumni and leaders whose contributions continue to shape the profession and the school. This year’s award recipients included:

  • Dr. Jerome S. Casper, D76, recipient of the Class of 1976 Alumni Award
  • Dr. Kathleen T. O’Loughlin, D81, H24, recipient of the Class of 1981 Alumni Award
  • Dr. Joseph R. Kenneally, D81, recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award
  • Dr. Robert E. Johnson III, D18, and Dr. Stevie A. Roberts, D18, MG14, recipients of the Distinguished Young Alumni Award
  • Bridget Kent, Director of Alumni Engagement, recipient of the Staff Award
Their achievements and service exemplify the excellence, leadership, and dedication that define the Tufts dental community.

That evening, alumni came together at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston for the Reunion Gala, class receptions, and dinners. Class photos captured milestone reunions, while the Tufts After Dark dance party brought generations together on the dance floor for a lively close to the day’s celebrations.

Wellness, Connection, and Reflection

Saturday morning began with a unique wellness offering—a yoga and mindfulness session led by Dr. Christina DiBona Pastan—followed by a continental breakfast and time to reconnect in a more relaxed setting.

The weekend concluded on Sunday with a Farewell Brunch hosted by Dean Karimbux, providing one final opportunity for alumni to gather, reflect on the weekend, and look ahead to future reunions.

Honoring Tradition, Inspiring the Future

Beyond celebration, Reunion Weekend also highlighted the power of giving back. Alumni participation and generosity were recognized through special class awards, underscoring the community’s shared commitment to supporting future generations of Tufts dental students. This year, the Cusp of Excellence award for Reunion giving was presented to D81, which raised $31,710, while D81 also earned the Golden Crown for overall giving since 2020, totaling $1,530,033. The Porcelain Bridge, recognizing the highest participation rate this year, was awarded to D71 at 15.19%, and the Impression award for highest participation among 5th and 10th reunion classes went to D16 at 8.25%. Together, these achievements reflect the strength and continued momentum of the Tufts Dental alumni community.

A Lasting Impact

Reunion Weekend 2026 was a powerful reminder that while much may change over the years, the bonds formed at Tufts remain constant. From the classroom to the clinic and beyond, the Tufts dental experience continues to shape careers, inspire leadership, and foster lifelong connections.

As alumni departed Boston, the sentiment was clear: the spirit of TUSDM is as strong as ever—and the countdown to the next reunion has already begun.
