Susan Napier is the author of Miyazakiworld: A Life in Art, a biography and a film-by-film analysis of anime master Hayao Miyazaki’s creations, and a celebration of his animation and storytelling. Her previous books include Anime from Akira to Howl’s Moving Castle and The Fantastic in Japanese Literature. She has taught anime courses at Tufts for years, including a seminar on Miyazaki.
