Yareliz Diaz knew Tufts was her top choice school the moment she set foot on campus in October of her senior year of high school. The Boston native, who hails from the city's Jamaica Plain neighborhood, has dedicated her time at Tufts to the service of others.
An active member of the Tufts Latino community and a Latino Studies minor, she has mentored underclassmen as a coordinator of the Latino Center's peer leader program and has participated in multiple philanthropic ventures with Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.
Upon graduating, Yareliz will be using her Community Health and Anthropology majors to continue her life of service, working as a research assistant to help facilitate better communication between mental health professionals and their patients with the Cambridge Health Alliance's Center for Multicultural Mental Health Research.
Tufts Photo has spent the past few months documenting Yareliz as she's put the finishing touches on her education, been recognized for her achievements, and had a little bit of fun along the way.
